Question: Plus size bathing suit? skirt or shorts?
(Posted by: ariesalways411 on 2010-01-18 06:06:33)
What kind of bathing suit should I be getting. I have to order online since its winter but Im taking the fmaily to an indoor waterpark. Plus size...I like the two peices that still cover everything. With a skirt or shorts. Which would be better. Ive had a skirt befor ebut maybe the wrong kind..IDK...It seemed to make my butt even bigger. lol |

Indoor waterparks are a great winter escape - my kids love them. If you are worried about two pieces cuts you in half and makes your bottom look bigger - look for a tankini style in the same color palette and/ or print on top and bottom. You can find a great selection of tankinis, joggers and swim separates at AlwaysForMe.com. alwaysforme.com/ shbysionepit.html For active water activities like a water park choose a style that will keep you covered and comfortable on both top and bottom. The Always For Me Sport collection has a great racer back top and briefs that do just that ...alwaysforme.com/ alforme.html You may even want to consider a one piece swimdress style that has a short kicky skirt like the Always For Me Illusion - The tummy control and bust support of a one piece style but just enough skirt to make you feel covered but not granny like. alwaysforme.com/ lingerieswim.html |

Skirt because it looks cuter and it will make you seem a bit skinnier. |

Shorts are probably the best way to go, unless you are uncomfortable showing that much skin. Skirts, from my experience, left me looking even bigger than I was. Have fun shopping! :) |

It depends on the type of skirt or shorts. If you are trying to cover up, make sure the shorts are long enough OR opt for the skirt. If you're trying to look smaller, try to go for a skirt that is simple and flat rather than ruffled. The ruffles would add extra bulk to your look...unless you're going for that? |

Skirted suits and shorts make that area look BIGGER! It's the biggest mistake bigger girls make. Avoid them at all cost. Instead, get a suit with a higher cut in the leg, and then wrap in a long cover up type skirt for when yo are out of the water. |

Depends both on your body type (plus-size is not a single body type!) and the cut of the swim suit. Check out this article: Plus-Size Figure and Fit Guide blog.elegantplusmagazine.com/ 2007/ 06/ 18/ plus-size-swimwear-figure-and-fit-guide/ |
